    Common Golf Injuries and Their Treatment

    Golf is a popular and fun sport. Many people like to play golf as a hobby because it helps them in relaxing and getting rid of stress and anxiety. When you decide to spend your time on an activity it is important to understand the pros and cons of the activity that you are indulging in.

    Here are a few common golf-related injuries that every golfer should be aware of so that they can take precautions to avoid injuries.

    Lower Back Injury:

    In golf, you have to swing the arm to make the short and the swing can put significant pressure on the back muscles and the spine. Because of the stress the swing puts on the back, lower back injuries are common among the golfers. Mostly the lower back pain comes on gradually and results in unbalanced stress on the back.

    To prevent the injury from getting worse golfers should do stabilizing exercises and work on strengthening the core. Golfers can also benefit a lot by emphasizing on the exercises that help in improving mobility of hip, trunk and shoulder muscles.

    Elbow Injury:

    If the golfers grip the clubs too tightly then they can end up suffering from elbow injuries. The golfer’s elbow is a commonly known condition in golfers and generally affects the trailing arm. If you start feeling pain and tenderness inside and over the elbow and start to have difficulty in moving your finders then you have an elbow injury problem.

    Treating the elbow injury is simple especially during the initial stages you should simply need to rest the injured elbow. If the condition worsens then you should go to a doctor and they will subscribe to your pain medication.

    Shoulder Injury:

    To play gold the players require a coordinated effort from shoulder muscles along with the stabilizing muscles also known as the rotator cuffs. The rotator cuff is responsible for allowing the arm to raise and lower. If too much strain is put on the shoulder then it can lead to a shoulder injury. The most common shoulder injury is tendonitis. Another common injury is swelling of the tendons that are present in the shoulder muscles. The best way to avoid shoulder injuries is to do stretching exercises.

    Wrist Injury:

    To execute a good golf swing a golfer needs to have flexible writs. If the writs are unable to execute a wide range of movements then you will have a terrible swing. As the wrist is used a lot in golf, the golf injuries are pretty common among golfers. Repetitive motion can rescan in inflammation. The best way of avoiding wrist injuries is to rest. You should try exercises that help in strengthening the wrist muscles and making them less susceptible to injuries.
