Nokia, the mobile brand that we all grew up with made its official comeback last year. It launched its first set of Android smartphones in 2017. This new range of devices comprised a bunch of smartphones, including the Nokia 8 and Nokia 5. Both these devices from Nokia Smartphones are packed in with some interesting yet different set of features.

While the Nokia 8 stands out as Nokia’s first flagship, the Nokia 5 is popular as their reliable mid-range smartphone. A quick look at their prices & specifications and you’ll know that they’ve been developed for two distinct types of buyers. If you’re curious about what this brand has to offer, here’s a comparison of these phones.

Nokia 8 Vs Nokia 5: Design

Both the Nokia phones have a similar design and are made of an aluminium unibody. However, the Nokia 8 has a more premium finish to it. Its slimmer than the rest and comes with finer details. The Nokia 5, on the other hand, is a little rounder and chunkier.

When it comes to displaying of Nokia 8, it offers a sharper Quad HD resolution with a 5.3-inch screen. The Nokia 5 features a slightly smaller 5.2-inch display with lesser resolution. Both these displays are covered with Gorilla Glass that keeps the screens protected from minor scratches.

Nokia 8 Vs Nokia 5: Camera

Since the Nokia 8 is a flagship, it comes with better camera megapixels. It features a 13-MP rear camera with two sensors. One is an RGB sensor and one a monochrome sensor. Having such a dual camera sensor gives the photos more sharpness and color accuracy. On the front, it has a 13-MP sensor too which supports autofocus. All the lenses on the Nokia 8 are Carl Zeiss lenses.  Another interesting feature of the Nokia 8 camera is the Dual-Sight mode that lets you take pictures and videos on both the front and rear camera at the same time.

The Nokia 5 has a 13-MP camera on the rear too, but it isn’t as sophisticated as the Nokia 8. It has an 8-MP front camera that offers autofocus too. These cameras might not be comparable to the flagship’s but are quite good for their mid-range price slot.

Nokia 8 Vs Nokia 5: Performance

Nokia 8 takes the lead when it comes to performance too. It is powered by last year’s latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. This is a super-fast and energy-efficient processor that can handle all operations with great ease. The phone is backed by 4GB RAM that makes sure it runs lag-free no matter what apps you use.

The Nokia 5 is powered by a slightly less powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset. Nevertheless, you can multitask on this phone too. With its 2 GB RAM, this phone will get you through everyday tasks like browsing, messaging and calling easily. Before buying this smartphone, you should know everything about Nokia 5.

Both these phones run on Android One, which is the purest form of Android. This enables the Nokia 8 and Nokia 5 to receive updates and security patches faster than most phones. This is the reason these phones run on the newest Android operating system.

Nokia 8 Vs Nokia 5: Battery

The Nokia 8 comes with a 3090 mAh capacity battery. The Nokia 5, on the other hand, comes with a 3000 mAh battery, which is almost a match to the flagship. Both these battery capacities are quite sufficient for the day but if you ever need a battery backup, their Quick Charge 3.0 charger recharges the phones in a jiffy.

    Conclusion

As a flagship phone, the Nokia 8 offers better specs but costs more too. The Nokia 5 is a phone with good features for its price range too. Depending on your needs and budget, you can pick between these two stellar Nokia phones. Both are now available on the Bajaj Finserv EMI store. You can purchase the Nokia 8 on EMI at Bajaj Finserv at Rs.2,400. You can also check out the Nokia 5 on EMI at Rs.2,034. Bajaj Finserv also offers a bunch of additional benefits when buying smartphones on EMI.
