For most people flying is a stressful activity. The strain usually starts even before you board on the plane. Passing the luggage, navigating through the security and making your way towards the boarding gate. But troubles don’t just end here as flying itself can prove to be agonizing. You have to encounter real distress, especially if you are on a long-hours flight. We are talking about the in-flight noises that you would have to bear.

A chatty neighbor, crying babies, crew announcements and hum in the cabin can create problems. You should get some traveling advice regarding noise issues before booking your ticket. Seek guidance from the staff when you visit PIA Head Office in UK. You can avert an unpleasant experience and have a sound sleep by following some useful tips.

The Quietest Place to Sit on a Plane?

Experts usually advise picking your seat wisely while booking the ticket. The most common and simple advice is a seat located in the cabin’s front. However, such a seat placement is costly because of its position inside the plane. The reason is that this is the location where business, first and premium class cabins are.

    5 Things You Must Consider

There are some factors that you must remember to avoid in-flight noise issues. These are the points that you should consider while selecting a seat.

    Aircraft Factor

Choosing the aircraft is a key factor if you want a quieter flight experience. Noise coming from the plane’s engine can be quite disturbing. You should consider the type and body of the plane as well as engine models. Jet planes are quieter than turboprop planes. Whereas a narrow-body aircraft are always louder than a wide-body aircraft.

Flying in newer aircraft like Airbus A350 is also an option as their engines are quieter. Also, keep in mind that most airlines use different types of aircraft for the same destination.

    Distance from the Engine

As we mentioned before, the seats near the front cabin are quieter. The reason is that these are placed before the engine. The noise is minimum as compared to seats near the plane wings.

    Window or Aisle Seat?

Another choice that people have to make while booking a ticket is the side of their seats. Most prefer a window seat but it is also the loudest one. Whereas the passenger sitting in the aisle seats often gets disturbed by other passengers. People sitting in the middle can interrupt you in case they leave for a washroom trip.

So, what’s the best choice for you while flying? We would recommend you to pick an aisle seat in the middle if you are in a wide-body aircraft.

    The Washroom Factor

A seat closer to the washroom may also disturb you. The continuous flushing sound will be irritating while there will be more people hanging around. Make sure to check the washroom location on the plane before booking. A wise approach is to look at the seating position or ask your travel agent.

    What about the Announcements?

In-flight announcements may also annoy you if you need some sleep or quietness. An announcement is often as high as 95 dB to ensure that every passenger must hear it. But you can minimize its level by putting on a headphone or earplugs. Make sure that you invest in a gadget that can actively cancel the noise.
